Optical Fiber-Based Spectroscopy
Laboratory

The Optical Fiber-Based Spectroscopy Laboratory is equipped with a custom-designed experimental platform for optical investigations of layered 2D materials (thin layers, monolayers, heterostructures). The laboratory specializes in transmission, modulation spectroscopy, and photoluminescence measurements using a unique lab-on-fiber approach.
The core of the system is a fiber-integrated measurement platform, where thin layers and monolayers are transferred directly onto the core of a multimode optical fiber. This configuration enables temperature-dependent transmission studies of atomically thin materials with high sensitivity and stability. The system is integrated within a closed-cycle cryostat, allowing measurements over a broad temperature range.
The experimental setup enables investigations of:
- optical transmission of thin layers and monolayers,
- thermotransmittance spectroscopy (temperature-modulated transmission),
- photomodulated transmission,
- photoreflectance (PR),
- contact electroreflectance (CER),
- temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL).
Temperature-dependent measurements are performed in the range from cryogenic temperatures (down to ~20 K) up to room temperature and above, depending on the configuration. The system allows precise temperature control and modulation for spectroscopic techniques.
The combination of fiber-based transmission, modulation spectroscopy, and cryogenic capabilities enables comprehensive optical characterization of low-dimensional semiconductor systems.
