For students
Get involved in research
Students can get involved in current research work conducted at the SME Department and thus be a co-author of an article and complete an engineering or master's thesis.
How to do it?
- Take a look at the research being conducted at the Department.
- Learn about the research methods available at the laboratory.
- Contact the selected researcher, who will discuss your interests and suggest a topic or refer you to another researcher in the Department who may be closer to your interests.
Projects
- Summer (Autumn) project:
July (September) – usually a 3-week measurement session, followed by analysis of results and participation in the preparation of a publication; it is recommended to contact two months before the measurement session; the project allows for a closer understanding of a given research method and selected semiconductor materials/heterostructures; the obtained results may be the basis for an engineering/master's thesis for WUST students; for students from outside WUST, this project may be an internship. - DFT projects:
For students interested in DFT calculations, there is a possibility to complete projects during the semester. In this case, students should contact directly with prof. Pawel Scharoch pawel.scharoch@pwr.edu.pl directly. - Engineering diploma thesis (it is recommended to contact in the 5th semester)
- Master's thesis (it is recommended to contact in the 2nd semester)
- In the case of PhD project/studies, please familiarize yourself with the scientific activities of the professors of the Department of SMEs and contact them directly by e-mail to arrange a meeting in this matter.
